Thanks to the successful combination of stone, iron, glass and wood, in both traditional and modern forms, an innovative architectural design has been created that gives visitors the impression of being on board a sailing ship on the open sea. The luxurious furnishings and the comfortable but fully functional rooms give the guests of the villa a feeling of absolute tranquillity and guarantee them a relaxing stay with complete privacy.

Living room, dining room, kitchen:
The southern part of the living room with sea views has a large French door that gives access to the outside of the villa via a bridge that extends over the swimming pool. The glass balcony door in the northern part of the living room is 2.50 x 2.50 meters wide, which gives the kitchen and dining room their brightness. The panoramic window front gives the impression of harmony with the surrounding natural landscape and creates a feeling of freedom. The sea on the one side and the cliffs on the other side form a beautiful landscape puzzle.
An important factor that gives this luxury villa additional functionality is the kitchen block in the centre of the kitchen with four ceramic hobs and an oven. On the opposite window side are the other kitchen and household appliances: the refrigerator, the dishwasher, the washing machine, the kettle, the coffee machine, the toaster and the kitchen cupboards. On the other side is the dining room with a large table for eight people and the living room, which is located just below the attic where the second bedroom is located, and is equipped with two large and comfortable sofa beds and a television.
Bedroom and bathroom:
The first bedroom is on the left side of the entrance and has a double bed and a bathroom with a hydro-massage bathtub. The large balcony door offers a beautiful view of the sea and gives access to the terrace room just above the swimming pool. A staircase leads to the bedroom on the top floor, above the bathroom. The attic is in the same room as the first bedroom and is separated from it by a partition wall. The children's bedroom on the other side of the living room is designed in exactly the same way: it is furnished with two beds, but the attic of this room is much larger and instead of a desk, the children's bedroom is equipped with two more beds, so that altogether four children can stay. The bathroom has a shower cabin with hydromassage. The third bedroom is on the top floor and is separated from the kitchen and bathroom by two glass partitions. The bathroom is tiled with green Arabic tiles Tessera. A large French door on the sea side gives access to the balcony just above the pool bridge.
Pool area:
The heated luxury swimming pool (saltwater) has a length of 16.60 meters, a width of 3 meters and a depth of 0.6 - 1.80 meters. It is located on the side of the villa with sea views. The water surface is 0.65 meters lower than the living room area, because a bridge has been built over the luxury pool, connecting the two. The pool area was built of iron, steel and marine wood. The left and front part of the pool are connected by a corridor, which is 1 meter wide and at the same level as the water surface, so that you can see the sea while swimming. The pool is also connected to the area where the barbecue and showers are located, and to the 6.50 x 5 meter terrace. The whole pool area and the sunshade (built of iron and fabric) look like a ship deck and offer a breathtaking view of the endless blue of the sea on one side and the rocky landscape of the cape on the other.

About the location:

Villa Calypso is situated about 1,5 km outside the village of Livadia where you can find taverns. The nearest minimarket is in the village of Chrisoskalitissa, 10 kilometres away. The spectacular beach of Elafonissi is only about 14 kilometers away and the next beach of Livadia (sand/stone mixture) is only about 5 minutes walk from the villa.
Villa Calypso is located right on the cliff edge of the Cape of Koutoulas and offers direct views from everywhere to the endless blue of the sea, the white pebbles on the beach, the green robinias and the black and red cliffs of the Cape. Just as Homer's hero Ulysses was enchanted by the breathtaking beauty of Queen Calypso, guests will be enchanted by the beauty of the landscape.
 
The village of Livadia, Innahorion, located on the west coast, is 81 kilometres south-west of Chania and 35 kilometres from the town of Kissamos.
The village is located in the middle of the European E4 long-distance hiking trail (leading along the tarred coastal road to Elafonisi) - a coastal route of exceptional beauty that starts from the village of Kambos and continues through the villages of Keramoti, Livadia, Chrysoskalitissa and Elafonisi. The route represents the typical wild beauty of the rocky landscape of Crete thanks to the breathtaking alternation of olive and robinia trees and rocks of black and red lava formed by the sea.
In the village of Livadia, the food market still takes place in the traditional way - you can buy fish from the fishermen on the small harbour or vegetables, dairy products and meat from the farmers, but there are also three small taverns that even deliver food to the house. There is a mini-market in the village of Chrisoskalitissa, 10 km away, in the village of Kefali and in the village of Sfinaria, and supermarkets in the larger towns of Platanos and Kissamos. In the village of Elos, about 11 kilometres away, there is a petrol station.
Guests can, if they wish, take part in the daily activities of the villagers - charter a boat for a trip or for fishing, participate in the farming activities or in the numerous local festivals, collect grapes and trample them to make wine, learn how to make tsikoudia (Cretan local drink), etc. You will make friends with the friendly villagers, who consider foreign people as their guests and in this way you will get to know the tradition of Cretan hospitality.
A small sand/pebble beach can be found directly at the village.
